How much does a residential HVAC design cost in Ottawa?
Most homes are $975 to $1,500 + HST. Send your drawings and we will reply with a fixed quote before you commit.
Do I need an HVAC design for my building permit?
New homes, additions, coach houses and secondary suites usually need an HVAC design to get a building permit. In Ottawa it is submitted with a Mechanical Design Report (MDR). Our complete package includes the MDR, heat loss and gain calculations, duct layout, ventilation design and equipment selection.
What do you need from me?
Your drawings. PDFs, photos or sketches are all fine. If you can, tell us whether you want one or more heating and cooling zones, how bathrooms will be exhausted, and whether you want in-floor radiant heating. "Not sure" is a fine answer.
Will the design meet permit requirements?
Yes. Our designs are guaranteed to meet building permit requirements, and we help with any permit comments until the design is approved.
What areas do you serve?
Anywhere in Ontario. We are based in Ottawa, and because most design work does not need a site visit, we take on projects across the province. Projects that need site visits are focused on Ottawa and Eastern Ontario.
Who prepares the design?
Designs are completed under BCIN 125558 by HRAI certified designers, with Residential Air System Design and Residential Hydronics Design Technician designations.
